Telecom: Appeal against Frequency Allocation Board dismissed

In a consolidated judgment, the Islamabad High Court has decided two writ petitions and an appeal filed by a major telecommunications company challenging the decisions of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and the Frequency Allocation Board in relation to its license renewal and use of additional frequency spectrum of 6.6 MHz in the 1800 MHz Band initially allocated to it in 2007 on a temporary basis.

We are pleased to share that the Court dismissed both the petitions and the appeal with costs, holding that the Company had no legal entitlement to Additional Spectrum following the renewal of its license.

Our counsel Ashtar Ausaf Ali, Asad Rahim Khan, and Usama Rauf successfully acted for FAB on behalf of the firm.
