Ashtar Ali & Rahim LLP secures victories for Masood Textiles, Beacon Impex

In a recent ruling, the Lahore High Court has upheld the principle that no coercive action can be taken against taxpayers by the Federal Board of Revenue until final determination of tax liability. It has also affirmed Supreme Court precedent that such actions violate fundamental rights.

Illegal and unconstitutional FIR proceedings against the petitioners – Masood Textile Mills Limited and Beacon Impex Limited – have been quashed. The petitioner companies were represented by partner Asad Rahim Khan and senior associate Faiz-e-Azhar at Ashtar Ali & Rahim.
